My initial venture into charting my fertility was for my husband and I to conceive. Over the years, we have used sympto-thermal charting, breastfeeding charting, the lactational amenorrhea method and specific perimenopause guidelines to negotiate through changing fertility needs.
I am a registered nurse with a background in community nursing. I strongly believe in the education and empowerment of women and their partners to reach whatever fertility goals they may have. I try to be as inclusive as possible and a consultation is never without some laughter and fun!
I qualified as a Fertility Educator in 1999 and have worked with clients who are not sexually active and leading up to a wedding, those with normal cycles avoiding pregnancy, those with returning fertility after using chemical contraception, those with returning fertility after having had a baby, those trying to conceive, women moving into perimenopause. Another interesting group is those women who chart to learn more about their fertility and menstrual cycle in general or to establish the influence of fertility hormones on migraines, a diagnosis of Poly Cystic Ovaries or Endometriosis.
I am open to clients using a digital oral thermometer or Tempdrop, paper charts and fertility apps. I love what I do and love to share the extensive knowledge and experience that I have with women and their partners all over the world via Zoom consultations. I offer a course of three sessions, individual appointments and a chart checking service for autonomous Fertility First clients or anyone who would like a chart checked. I am also the National Clinical Supervisor for Natural Fertility NZ which involves providing clinical supervision for our educators, auditing educator work, training new educators, providing ongoing training and education opportunities for our educators.
