As a pharmacist, my world is inundated with recommendations for and use of hormonal contraception. Yet in my professional life, and personal life, I believe learning how our bodies work is the best way to empower women. I teach the Marquette Method of Natural Family Planning, which utilizes urine hormone testing in combination with other biomarkers. I am well versed in the Clearblue monitor, LH strips, as well as the new Mira monitor which provides quantitative hormone data.
I am an active community pharmacist, but my primary role since 2016 has been in academia at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA. I am involved with Duquesne’s College of Osteopathic Medicine which boasts the first Center for Fertility Awareness Education and Research housed within a medical school. I regularly present at Women’s Health conferences and teach college-age women about cycle charting as well.
In my personal life, I am a wife of 14 years (using Marquette our entire marriage!), and the mother of three children ages 5, 7, and 9.
My fee is $150 and this includes initial instruction + follow-up for 6 months. There are no required number of sessions, everything is on Zoom, and I provide same-day replies to questions from my clients. New clients may schedule at: calendly.com/emilylohr
