I am a practicing intern with the Justisse College and I have been told I am the first Thai citizen to be enrolled in the college. I am passionate about bringing FABM awareness to underserved populations, which means I will eventually translate the materials into Thai and teach the Justisse method in my mother-tongue. Learning the symptothermal method has supported me in coming off my IUD and gaining autonomy over my body. Prior to learning FABM, I didn’t know women ovulated once a cycle; I was living in fear of getting accidentally pregnant all the time!
As an HRHP, I am educated about alternative healing modalities such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, and I have gathered some contacts/spaces/clinics in Thailand that would be helpful for clients living in this region to seek help from. Hormonal birth control pills are OTC in Thailand, and women and girls are not being supported by health specialists in guiding them in contraceptive option. Therefore, I find contraception counselling to be very important part of my practice and help my clients understand the underlying biological mechanisms of taking hormonal birth control and its side effects. There is also a very small community of doulas and no midwifery in Thailand.
I hope that my certification with JM will open opportunities for girls and women in Southeast Asia to gain body literacy and be in charge of their fertility.
